About kbuzz
kbuzz is a small daily reader that takes what's blowing up on Korea's biggest community boards — the same places where Korean K-pop fans, K-drama viewers, office workers, and students actually hang out — and translates the best of it into English.
Three sections:
- K-pop Buzz — idol drama, fan-forum takes, and whatever Korean fans are actually saying about your favorite group on theqoo, pann, and instiz.
- K-drama Buzz — what Korean viewers say after each episode. Casting takes, finale debates, plot calls.
- K-Life— office stories, dating drama, pet jokes, food debates. Korea's everyday viral posts.
How it works
Each day, our pipeline scrapes the front pages of fmkorea, theqoo, dcinside, ruliweb, instiz, and mlbpark. From hundreds of viral posts, only the handful that travel well across cultures get translated.
We aim for an honest snapshot of Korean opinion — positive, neutral, and critical reactions all represented, never cherry-picked to make Korea look one way or another. Posts ship with the original images (Korean text translated into English overlays), the source community noted, and a short explainer when cultural context isn't obvious. No popup ads, no autoplay video, no clickbait titles.
Who's behind this
Built by a Seoul-based engineer who got tired of seeing the funniest things on the Korean internet stay locked inside Korean. If you have feedback, a story you'd like translated, or a question about something you saw, email kbuzz602@gmail.com or drop us a note.
